Kid Rock held a press conference on Tuesday to discuss his new hat.  “As of Saturday, October 20, 2007 performer, Kid Rock (that is myself) purchased a new hat,” Rock read from a prepared statement.  “This hat will be featured on my head during upcoming performances and promotional stops.”  In addition to helping Rock promote his newly released record, the hat is said to also keep the rain off his head.  Rock then took questions from the audience

“What color is the hat?” asked one reporter.

“It is a black hat.”

“Can you let us know where you got the hat?” asked New York Times Music Editor, Jon Pareles.

“I got it on my head.” quipped Rock.

Rock, who made a strategic switch from soft leather to felt, appeared confident and well composed during the press conference.  So far there has been no quote from Rock’s previous hat as to his shocking change in fabric.
